In the Beginning was the Word...

...And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the good word, the good news. My Lord's words penetrate my soul. They speak peace.
He continues to speak words of glorious love to me in many ways.

In the Beginning was the Word...

His Word is The Word! He's my Saviour!
His truth is The Truth pure and clear.
All elements bow in obedience.
Aligned, I can His voice now hear.

He tells me how much that He loves me.
He whispers truth sweet to my soul.
I listen and hear His commandments,
And serve other sheep of His fold.

I hear His voice in the mountains,
In the clear water streams He is found.
In the tempest of lightening and thunder,
In all things His glory resounds!

I feel the truth of His coming;
Like fire warms my spirit and heart.
And hope springs within; Life Eternal.
His grace is my gift from the start.

Though oft' times His will is not mine,
He speaks words of peace to my soul.
I humbly submit to His promptings,
To be one with Him is my goal.

I will not, I cannot, deny Him!
The cock the third time will not crow!
His light is a lamp to my footsteps.
And no more astray will I go!

With gratitude and with thanksgiving
I accept and love all of His words.
He speaks through His prophets and scriptures;
As always, His voice can be heard.

My heart also senses His promptings,
Though sometimes so gentle and still.
It's then that I focus to listen;
To obey His glorious will.

In the beginning, the Word, the Creator.
He was and He is god and king.
His praises forever within me;
My soul overflowing does sing.

In the beginning He was with our Father.
His glorious voice could be heard.
His work and His glory is for me!
His will, and not mine, be His word!

In dreams, or in visions, or promptings,
Through prophets, or scriptures He speaks.
The same yesterday, and forever;
He is my Saviour, my God, and my King!

I witness that He speaks today in many ways. That He does so because of His great and omnipotent love for each of us... for me. I testify that there is much more to be learned. We sometimes think we have everything figured out. We insist that we understand. Then, He lovingly, and I believe with good humor, shows us another piece of the great puzzle; and lets us grow as we try to expand our understanding.
I am grateful for His patience with me. I am overwhelmed with humility as I realize that I am a little child. I yearn to know His will for me, and hope I will always obey.

These things I testify of in the name of my Saviour - Jesus, The Christ - Amen.
